Horizon upgrades PNG Stanley

The Stanley field in Papua New Guinea's Western Province contains mean contingent recoverable resources totaling 361 Bcf of gas and 11.4 million barrels of condensate, around 30% more than estimated prior to the most recent drilling program, Australian partner Horizon Oil said November 14. The latest estimate was issued following the completion in May of the Stanley-2 and Stanley-4 exploration and development wells in Petroleum Retention Licence 4. The field is owned 50% and operated by Horizon, with a subsidiary of Canada's Talisman Energy holding the balance. Horizon has completed front-end engineering and design for a liquids stripping project at Stanley, with the condensate to be exported to market via a pipeline to the river port of Kiunga by river tanker.
