Alon Natural Gas Exploration has signed a memorandum of understanding to acquire a 10% stake in two offshore licenses from the Delek Group, Israeli energy industry sources said February 11. The sources said Alon Gas would take a stake in Alon E and Ruth D licenses adjacent to the Tamar field off of Israel's northern Mediterranean coast. Alon Gas holds a 4% stake in the Tamar consortium. In addition, the sources said that Alon Gas would also acquire a similar stake in the Keren and Avia licenses off of Israel's southern Mediterranean coast. All four of the offshore licenses are owned by Delek Group subsidiaries Delek Drilling and Avner Oil and Gas and Noble Energy Inc.
