The global gas revolution will significantly raise bills for Australian households and some gas-consuming businesses, but governments should resist calls to protect those users from high gas prices, according to a report released mid June by the Grattan Institute. The emergence of the LNG export industry on Australia's east coast could lead to price rises for households of up to A$170 ($163)/year, the think tank found.
