Medibank sets new record

Medibank private, Australia's largest private health insurer, has raised A$5.679bn (US$4.94bn) from its ASX IPO, after pricing the deal at the mid-point of an upwardly revised price range. The offer priced at A$2.15 per share, the middle of A$2.00-$2.30 revised guidance and well above the A$1.55-$2.00 original target. Retail investors, however, only needed to pay A$2.00 per share due to a retail price cap. The final price represents a 2015 P/E ratio of 22.9.
