About US$25bn of deals will be squeezed into just four days in the US investment-grade bond markets this week, as corporates move quickly to fund the avalanche of mergers and acquisitions activity this year. Spooked by the return of some volatility in the first weeks of August, bankers said corporates were anxious to get ahead of any further geopolitical headline risk by coming to market as soon as possible for funding, especially for the cash portions of M&A likely to be financed before the year-end.
