Nomura hit by Japan downturn

Nomura has reaffirmed its commitment to its international wholesale business after revenues in its home Japanese market fell to their lowest in 18 months as concerns grow that the Abenomics experiment in the country might be running out of steam. A resurgence in corporate and trading activity in Japan had driven revenues in previous quarters, with the country outperforming all other regions. However, the bank earned more in both the Americas and Europe, Middle East and Africa than in its home country in the latest quarter.
