Daniel Pinto has taken sole charge of jp Morgan's corporate and investment bank following the departure of his co-chief executive Mike Cavanagh for private equity firm carlyle group. It's the second big departure from atop the investment bank in a year. Pinto and Cavanagh took over in 2012 after James "Jes" Staley was moved into a largely ceremonial chairman role. Staley later exited the bank, taking a leadership role with hedge fund BlueMountain Capital. Cavanagh leaves JP Morgan to become co-president and co-chief operating officer at private equity firm Carlyle Group. He will share that role with Glenn Youngkin, who has been with Carlyle for 19 years.
