Two senior executives resigned from emaar misr for development, the Egyptian unit of Emaar Properties, over the weekend of August 1-2. Ahmed Fathallah, chief investment officer and Walid El-Hindi, chief development officer, resigned at the weekend to "pursue new opportunities". News of the resignations was linked in media reports with Emaar Misr for Development's difficult life on the public market. The shares closed on their Sunday July 5 debut at EE3.94, above the EE3.80 IPO price, but fell sufficiently far to require a stock suspension the following day, closing at EE3.29. Since then, the highest close has been EE3.54 and the shares closed last Monday at EE3.43 and at EE3.44 on Thursday. EFG Hermes and JP Morgan were joint bookrunners, with Emirates Financial Services as lead manager.
