Park Square raises US$2.4bn fund

Park square capital, one Europe's largest alternative capital providers, has raised US$2.4bn of committed capital for its credit opportunities Ⅱ senior debt programme to invest in senior debt including leveraged loans as regulation continues to transform the market. The new Credit Opps II vehicle will make Park Square one of Europe's biggest non-bank credit investors. The firm will be able to invest more than €100m to senior secured debt financing for leveraged companies, including private equity buyouts. The scale of Park Square's fund is another sign of the rise of alternative credit providers at banks' expense as increasing regulation limits banks' ability to underwrite profitable highly leveraged loans, which offer investors higher returns for higher risk.
