The republic of italy is considering issuing a 15-year syndicated inflation-linked bond in the second part of the year, according to a source familiar with the matter. The Baa2/BBB-/BBB+ rated sovereign is not planning any other syndicated nominal bond for the foreseeable future, however, the source said. Two 15- and 30-year syndicated bonds and an eight-year linker issue this year have more than sated the funding needs of the country, which bagged almost €23bn in just three rounds of syndication. "It's been a much more intense first semester than usual, in terms of funding," the source said.
