The kingdom of Belgium priced its first-ever sterling deal on Thursday, taking advantage of the arbitrage the currency offers versus euros. The Aa3/AA/AA rated sovereign mandated RBS and Scotiabank for a December 2018 transaction on Wednesday, setting initial price talk at the 27bp area over the July 2018 Gilt. The spread was fixed at 26bp on a book of near the £400m mark. Final orders were in excess of £500m.
