The US high-grade market was firing on all cylinders last week, with more than US$53bn of supply flooding the market, making it the second-largest ever on record. March so far has seen the two busiest weeks on record back to back, taking volume for the month to more than US$105bn - with a surprising show of resilience despite the onslaught of supply. Spreads on Barclays US corporate index widened just 3bp last week to 129.9bp over US Treasuries, and are still 12bp tighter since mid-January.
