UAE healthcare provider nmc health carried out an intraday accelerated capital raise last Wednesday to finance its purchase of Al Zahra Hospital in Sharjah for Dh2.058bn (US$560m). The balance for the acquisition will be funded from new US$1.4bn loan facilities from JP Morgan and Standard Chartered, including an 18-month bridge facility that is due to be replaced by part of the placing proceeds. Following wall-crossing to a handful of investors including major shareholders on Tuesday, books opened on Wednesday morning with reference to market on an offering of 18.5m shares, representing 9.99% of existing share capital.
