UBS, meanwhile, is introducing more flexible hours for bankers, and Morcan Stanley is reported to be introducing paid four-week sabbaticals for newly-promoted vice-presidents. The initiatives are all part of a drive by investment banks to soften their workaholic image and stop talented staff leaving for jobs in other areas such as technology or private equity.
