摘要

Saver says that it intends to finance its US$62bn bid for Monsanto, the world's largest seed company, with around US$46.6bn of debt, or 75% of the enterprise value of the transaction. The company is planning further talks on the potential acquisition despite Monsanto's rejection of its initial US$122 per share bid last Tuesday. Monsanto described the bid as "incomplete and financially inadequate," but was open to further discussions on a possible transaction. Bayer said that its proposal provides "full and certain value for Monsanto shareholders".
