The European investment bank cemented the return of the sterling market in resounding fashion, raising a hefty £lbn size on a five-year benchmark. The Triple A rated supranational printed the £lbn 1.125% September 2021 bond at 45bp over Gilts, in line with initial price thoughts and guidance of the plus 45bp area. The deal confirms that the sterling market is wide open again after a brief hiatus when concerns over a possible Brexit dampened issuance. "The fear factor has gone out of the market.
