There is no "magic bullet" to get more women into senior roles in the finance industry and banks should sign up to a set of voluntary proposals to improve their gender balance, a government sponsored review of the industry said. Proposals to improve the number of females in senior positions in banking included linking pay for senior executives to the gender balance at the firm. The three other major proposals were to set an internal target for gender diversity in senior management; for companies to appoint an executive responsible for gender, diversity and inclusion; and that companies report gender statistics publicly.
