The language used by HSBC in explaining its decision to keep its headquarters in London rather than head off to Asia made it sound like a middle-aged man deciding to stay put in the marital home after being caught with his trousers down. CEO Stuart Gulliver explained the "unanimous" decision in a statement released on Valentine's Day. "Having our headquarters in the UK and our significant business in Asia Pacific delivers the best of both worlds to our stakeholders," he said.
