The CEEMEA new issue market is in line for another tough year, although volumes could beat 2015 levels thanks to some potential mega-deals. The headwinds that tempered supply last year persist, with depressed commodity prices, doubts about China's economy and growing geopolitical tensions topping the list. Last year those challenges meant only US$82.80bn of new deals were sold, according to IFR data, the second lowest in the past 10 years. Indeed, there were only 82 days in which a deal of at least US$150m was printed, according to one banker, compared with 107 in 2014, reflecting the volatility.
