Barclays sets board for IB, international arm

barclays has picked the board for its business outside the "ring-fenced" UK retail banking business, which will be separated in the first half of next year. By 2019 UK banks with more than £25bn in deposits are required to set up ring-fences around those deposit-taking activities, to shield depositors and taxpayers from losses in riskier parts of the bank. The ring-fenced units must be run at an arm's length from the rest of the group with separate boards and limited capital sharing.
