Glencore's CEO IVAN Glasenberg is known for his no-nonsense approach to deal-making, but the mining giant's approach for Bunge has revealed a hitherto unseen touchy-feely side. Never mind poison pills and hostile takeovers, Glencore is offering the prospect of a "consensual business combination". It doesn't mention what the takeover premium might be, or whether it includes scented candles and soft lighting but it takes M&A to a new level.
