Egypt raised US$3bn last Wednesday through a triple tap of its recently issued US dollar bonds, uncovering a well of demand to outstrip a US$1.5bn-US$2bn target outlined by the Minister of Finance at the end of April. Egypt reopened the three bonds it sold at the start of the year, tapping its 6.125% 2022s for US$750m at 5.45%, and raising US$1bn from the reopening of its 7.50% 2027s at 6.65% and US$1.25bn of its 8.50% 2047s at 7.95%.
