Asia floaters fancied as rates rise

Floating-rate bonds are enjoying a rebound in Asia this year amid expectations of further rate increases from the US Federal Reserve. In Asia, where issuers have traditionally preferred fixed-rate funding, both banks and corporate borrowers have turned to floaters to capture investor demand. Only last week, BANK OF CHINA and KOREA EXPRESSWAY both issued floaters to enthusiastic responses from investors.
