Three of the biggest names in US finance and regulation last week called for major change in the industry, potentially opening the door for an overhaul of how Wall Street's powerful banks are structured. Most significantly, White House economic adviser Gary Cohn said he supported bringing back the Glass-Steagall Act, a Depression-era law that would revamp Wall Street banks by splitting their consumer lending businesses from their investment banks.
