Bob Diamond and Qataris swoop for UK stockbroker Panmure

Former Barclays chief executive Bob Diamond's investment firm and a vehicle of the Qatari royal family are buying British stockbroker panmure cordon. Diamond's investment vehicle atlas merchant capital and qinvest said they had reached a deal to buy Panmure Gordon for about £15.5m. They plan to take it private. It marks the return of Diamond to a City of London firm, although the CEO and founding partner of Atlas Merchant Capital will not be actively involved in the running of Panmure.
