The European Central Bank will not be buying asset-backed securities with yields below its deposit rate, it revealed in a statement following its monetary policy decision on Thursday. Market participants have raised concerns about the amount of ECB-eligible assets now yielding less than that level, fearing that without them the central bank won't be able to keep its pace of buying at €60bn per month.
