Macro position is key for India - Rajan

Former Reserve Bank of India governor Raghuram Rajan said India needed to strengthen its macroeconomic position to withstand emerging-market volatility. "In a situation when the broader external world is getting a little more anxious about emerging markets, it is important to keep a very stable macroeconomic environment, which means fiscal and monetary policies, to assure both domestic and international investors," Rajan said in an interview on the sidelines of the Nomura Investment Forum Asia in Singapore last week.
