The REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA issued the first Green sovereign bonds from Asia on Thursday, driving awareness of environmentally conscious investments in a region that has lagged the rest of the world.rnThe US$1.25bn of five-year sukuk are also the world's first Islamic Green bonds from a sovereign issuer. They were priced at 3.75% and came as part of a two-tranche Islamic deal that included a regular US$1.75bn 10-year sukuk issue, priced at 4.40%.
