PagSegura sets bullish tone with US$2.3bn LatAm-to-US IPO

The US$2.26bn IPO of Brazilian payments provider pagseguro digital - Portuguese for "secure payment" - proved a solid choice as the first LatAm-to-US IPO of 2018. Ahead of an expected uptick in LatAm IPOs this year, PagSeguro was able to price above range before making an eye-catching NYSE debut that saw its shares soar by more than one-third on Wednesday. The IPO was more than 10 times oversubscribed before underwriters priced the sale of 105.4m American Depositary shares, upsized from 92.1m at launch, at US$21.50, above the US$17.50-$20.50 range.
