Liquidity concerns hit China stocks

China's technology-focused ChiNext index plunged last week as fears mounted over tightening liquidity following President Xi Jinping's pledge to reduce risks in the financial system. Nearly 500 stocks hit the 10% daily trading limit and the problems in the ChiNext index also spread to large-cap stocks, although all indices regained some ground later in the week.
