Citi poaches Ghiawadwala to head commercial bank

CITICROUP has poached Tasnim Ghiawadwala from Barclays to head its commercial bank. Ghiawadwala is returning to Citi from Barclays, where she was head of its corporate bank in the UK from 2018, according to a memo to staff seen by IFR. She joined Barclays after working for Citi for 21 years, holding regional management and Citi Commercial Bank roles, including heading CCB in Europe, the Middle East and Africa for eight years. She takes over from Sunil Garg, who was recently appointed CEO of Citibank NA, the consumer banking division. She will start after completion of her gardening leave.
