摘要

India has extended a block on bankruptcy filings for a further three months to help businesses ride out the coronavirus pandemic, in a move that could put even more pressure on a stressed banking system further down the road. The government earlier amended the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code so no new cases could be filed for defaults arising on or after March 25, when the nationwide Covid-19 lockdown was declared. The suspension was due to last for six months, and has now been extended until December 25.
