Government-sponsored mortgage agency freddie mac has said it will launch a new line of green CMBS backed exclusively by loans to multi-family property owners who have made energy and water-efficiency improvements. The agency will securitise multi-family loans originated through its Green Advantage program in a separate green bond program for the first time to tap into demand for environmentally aware investments.
