Telecom egypt has amended a US$500m five-year syndicated loan that it signed in October 2018. The facility has been reduced to US$428m and the margin has been reduced by 20%. The maturity remains the same. First Abu Dhabi Bank was the sole arranger of the amendment. "It is quiet in the Middle East and banks need to book assets - we will see more amendments and margin reductions rather than new money deals," a banker said.
