TBC BANK GROUP, the London-listed parent of Georgia's TBC, has appointed Nikoloz Enukidze as chairman, replacing founder Mamuka Khazaradze, who has been charged with money laundering by the Georgian authorities together with former deputy chairman Badri Japaridze. Khazaradze and Japaridze had stepped down from the group board shortly after they were charged on July 25. They had already relinquished roles at the banking subsidiary earlier this year when the investigation by the Georgian authorities first surfaced in February. Khazaradze and Japaridze said they would "seek to re-join the board... once all the claims made against them have been cleared". TBC said it had full confidence in their integrity and hoped they would clear their names quickly.
