Envista sinks teeth into growth plans with US$640m IPO

Dental products company envista is hoping to ramp up its growth potential as it separates from conglomerate Danahervia an up to US$640m NYSE IPO launched on Wednesday. The maker of dental implants, orthodontic brackets, clear aligners and a range of other equipment and consumable products used by dentists comes to the public markets with a low growth profile that included sales growth of just 1% to US$2.8bn last year. This is sharply at odds with the explosive growth of direct-to-consumer teledentistry company SmileDirectClub, which coincidentally launched a US$1.3bn IPO roadshow last week (see Top News story).
