Pimco goes big on mortgage REIT

Pimco, the fixed-income investment powerhouse, set its sights high for the start-up of its residential mortgage REIT pimco mortgage income trust with a US$1bn planned raise on the IPO. That is a massive amount of money for a new investment vehicle. It would be the largest-ever mortgage REIT IPO and sixth-largest REIT of any kind, according to Refinitiv data.
