How do you run a successful investment bank? By offering everything to every client, as the leading US banks do, or by taking a narrower approach and focusing on what you do well? Natixis is firmly in the latter camp. Marc Vincent, its head of corporate and investment banking, joined the French bank in September 2012 to run coverage and advisory just as the bank accepted competing on all fronts was no longer a sensible option. That has seen it take a unique approach to advisory work - by teaming up with established boutique firms around the world. Natixis has partnered with seven boutiques in the past five years.
