Corterra Makes Inroads into Apparel Markets

Corterra, the Shell Chemicals trade name for poly-trimethylene terephthalate (PTT) polymer, continues to makes inroads into the fashion industry. Textile manufacturer Boehme unveiled several garments made of the polymer at the annual Febratex international textile fair in September in Blumenau, the heart of Brazil's textile region. Garments on display at the Boehme stand included a blouse and skirt ensemble, jogging suit and cocktail dress made from Gorterra fibers and treated with Boehme finishes. All of the garments featured easy-care and stretch properties, as well as good hand and drape.
