Fleissner Nonwoven Pilot Line to Spark Nonwovens Development in South Africa

The laboratory production nonwovens line that positions the CSIR National Fibre, Textile and Clothing Centre among the five best product development sites in the world and the first in Africa, was officially opened and showcased in Port Elizabeth in August. A workshop was held to highlight the potential of a unique laboratory production nonwoven line set up at the National Fibre Textile and Clothing Centre (NFTCC) - an initiative by CSIR and the South African Department of Trade and Industry —and for GSIR to showcase its facility. Technical presentations were delivered by nonwovens experts from South Africa and Germany.
