Don't Let Pain Take Hold! Vibration Limits Measured

Directive 2002/44/EC deals with the determination of limits and action values, for the daily exposure to vibration. Two physiological domains are addressed: the "hand-arm" and the "wholebody" domains, the acceptable statutory values of which are specified. The experimental protocol, as well as indicators relevant for assessment, is defined in Standards ISO 5349-2 and ISO 2631-1. 01dB-Metravib (France) introduces a new portable instrument Vib008 that perfectly meets the requirements of this statutory application. This metrological instrument connected to a triaxial accelerometer is installed on site. Vib008 integrates a presence detector on the whole-body plate in order to activate subsequently the signal storage. Very simple to use, Vib008 is remotely controlled by the operator using a Pocket PC.
