摘要

To control initial amounts of nutrients or org; the analysis of the wastewater influent is necessary. Key variables are pH and COD, which can be measured by the SensoLyt~® 700 IQ and spectral sensors, respectively. The degradation of nitrogen (mainly bonded in ammonia) is a two-step process. Ammonium is oxidized under aerobic conditions to Nitrate. After recirculation of the wastewater into an anaerobic basin, Nitrate is reduced in a second process step to elementary Nitrogen. The efficiency of this process is mainly influenced by dissolved oxygen concentration and sludge age.
