摘要

Ottawa—Environment Canada Nov. 4 published proposed regulations to better protect the environment from the use, storage, and release of polychlorinated rnbiphenyls (PCBs) and to accelerate elimination of any use of the substances in Canada.rnThe PCB Regulations are expected to result in the removal of about 50 percent of PCBs still in use and 100 percent of PCBs currently in storage by 2009, the department said in a regulatory impact analysis statement published with the draft regulations. The rules were issued under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act.
