Two leading environmental campaign groups May 22 accused the European Commission of favoring industry views and of downplaying concerns about safety and waste in discussions about the future of nuclear energy in Europe. The criticisms came ahead of the second meeting of the European Nuclear Energy Forum (ENEF), held in Prague, Czech Republic, May 22-23. ENEF is a Commission-convened expert body in which the two advocacy groups, Friends of the Earth Europe and Greenpeace, participate alongside industry and government representatives.
