摘要

The German Federal Environment Agency Oct. 9 called for changes to the European chemicals law to ensure that criteria for identifying substances of "very high concern" reflect current scientific knowledge about the substances. The agency did not recommend specific changes, but it said several EU member states argue that the criteria governments and registrants use to identify substances that are persistent, bioaccumulative, and toxic (PBT), or very persistent and very bioaccumulative (vPvB), are "out-of date and do not reflect the current state of science."
