Canada Proposes Export Controls on PFOS,Lindane to Enforce Stockholm Convention

Environment Canada Sept. 11 said it plans to introduce controls on the export of per-fluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) and the pesticide lindane to better enforce Canada's commitments to the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants.rnThe proposed export controls on PFOS would affect the Canadian metal plating sector, as well as Canadian owners of aqueous film-forming foams, including military establishments, petroleum and petrochemical facilities, airports, municipalities, and first responders.
