Companies responsible for nearly three-fourths of greenhouse gas emissions from Taiwan's industrial and energy sectors have enrolled in a voluntary reporting program that is moving toward a carbon offset scheme, the Taiwan Environmental Protection Administration (TEPA) told BNA Sept. 23.rnSince July 2007, the Taiwanese government has offered companies in both sectors a platform for reporting greenhouse gas emissions. TEPA officials said the two sectors, which include the country's top 300 emitters, account for 92 percent of greenhouse gas emissions in Taiwan.
