HOUSTON-A Greek shipping company agreed June 7 to pay a $900,000 penalty after pleading guilty to charges of deliberately discharging oily waste directly into the sea from a cargo vessel off Texas and failing to notify the U.S. Coast Guard of safety hazards aboard the vessel, federal prosecutors announced June 8 (United States v.
