Used Electric Car Batteries Can Have Second Life in Other Applications, GM Executive Says

The president and managing director of General Motors Canada said Dec. 8 the company is working to ensure that components of electric cars, including batteries, can be reused in other ways once a vehicle's life is over. Kevin Williams was in Vancouver to launch GM's electric Volt, which operates gas-free from a battery power source with zero tailpipe emissions. He told BNA that GM is working with government agencies "as part of our key market strategy to make sure we have meaningful policies in place to handle those batteries."
