Alberta Minister Seeks Independent Review Of Pipelines; Enbridge Hikes Safety Spending

Alberta's energy minister has asked the Canadian province's Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB) to retain an independent third party to review management of pipeline integrity to ensure the safety of pipelines crossing waterways and the handling of spill responses and protocols. The review will run concurrently with individual pipeline investigations the ERCB is conducting, Minister Ken Hughes said in a July 20 news release.
